4/01/2011 · Legacy Weapons (3.5) Alright guys, so im attempting to design some legacy gear for my party. i looked at the pre-made stuff, and the rules for making it and im finding some inconsistancies with the formula which is making it quite difficult to understand:

Simply stated, the legacy weapons are no better than non-legacy weapons, but y ou take massive penalties in order to use them. This is just poor design of the particular weapons, however; not necessarily a problem with the system.

FWIW, my DM gave a PC a weapon of legacy (a longbow) and vastly nerfed the penalties, and the weapon is far, far more powerful than anything the rest of us have.
